Benton County Theft Case Highlights Importance of Permissions

A Benton County Sheriff's Deputy made quite the stop over the weekend. You know what they say, "A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words..." I got quite a chuckle out of this one. I'm not the only one. How did they load these pallets?

Early Saturday morning, a caller reported a theft in progress at a business on Plymouth Road. The plant manager was monnitoring security footage and saw someone loading pallets into a picjkup truck.

Upon arrival, Deputies searched the area, and located the suspect pickup truck nearby. A traffic stop was initiated by a Deputy and the driver was taken into custody.

Taking Pallets From Businesses Without Permission Is Illegal

The driver admitted to taking the pallets. What gave it away? Like others, I wonder why they didn't call around and ask for the pallets.

A lot of businesses have no need to hang onto them and will give them away. Maybe the suspect was hoping to make some extra cash. In any case, you can't just help yourself to someone else's property. According to the Sheriff's Office:

The suspect was booked into the Benton County Jail on charges of Theft 3rd Degree and Criminal Trespass 2nd Degree.
