
Cyclist Hit in Crosswalk at Broadway and Beech, Then Driver Took Off
A Moses Lake Man was arrested for felony-hit-and-run involving an injury.
On Sunday at about 11:30 am, officers with the Moses Lake Police Department responded to the collision at the intersection of Beech Street and Broadway Avenue.

Witnesses reported a vehicle traveling eastbound struck a person on a bicycle while using a marked crosswalk. The vehicle did NOT stop. According to Moses Lake Police:
Officer Dunkin investigated the collision and gathered enough evidence to identify the vehicle involved. Cpl. St. Onge and the graveyard shift later located the vehicle at an address on Lowry Street.

Moses Lake Police Locate Both Vehicle and Suspect Involved at a Residence
The driver of the vehicle was identified as 23-year old Antonio Garcia Martinez. Officers took him into custody, and he was booked into the Grant County Jail for felony hit-and-run (injury). The vehicle was seized as evidence pending a search warrant.
In Washigton State, a felony hit-and-run involving an injury is classified as a Class C felony. The punishment is up to 5 years in prison, a fine of up to $10,000, or both.
Three Things Drivers Are Required to Do at a Collision Scene
• Motorists are required to stop at the scene or as close as safely possible.
• Drivers are legally required to offer reasonable assistance, such as calling for medical help, to anyone who is hurt.
• Drivers must give their name, address, insurance details, and vehicle license number to any injured person or police officer.
