A Yakima teenager is under arrest on suspicion of stealing $300,000 from an unsuspecting homeowner, then stashing the money in a backpack in his bedroom.
According to the Yakima Police Department, a homeowner reported that someone had broken into his home and had stolen the cash from a safe.
Eighteen-year-old Saul Gonzales was arrested after a search of his bedroom turned up the cash stashed in a backpack.
Gonzales' mom was the housekeeper for the homeowner who reported the crime, and Gonzales has been jailed before for stealing from the same homeowner.
Gonzales admitted to taking the money after being questioned by Yakima police officers.
