A couple weeks ago KORD asked the community to help replace Eastgate Elementary's pumpkins. One donation from a dog brought community service full circle.
Yesterday on air, Paul talked about how the garden of Eastgate Elementary in Kennewick was raided and asked the public to donate pumpkins to the kindergarteners who lost their large Halloween pumpkins.
Here's Who Donated:
Workers at Bellinger Farms of Hermiston
The owner of Sandstone Cafe in Kennewick, James Ortego, and his friends donated 18 pumpkins
Sakesman for Logan-Zenner Seeds in Pasco, Jas
Though Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang are turning 62 this November 25, it's 2015's celebration that 'Peanuts' fans should anticipate. Peanuts Worldwide, the joint venture of Charles M. Schultz Creative Associates and Iconix Brand Group, Inc., is planning to bring these beloved characters to the big screen in a feature film event a couple years from now.
Sometime over the weekend someone stole pumpkins and ripe tomatoes from a garden at Kennewick's Eastgate Elementary maintained by the Kindergarten class for a science project. The garden was planted LAST MARCH and they kids were looking forward to harvest time! About 14 pumpkins were stolen and, according to a teacher, they were BIG! Give back the pumpkins!
As a parent of three small children (5 years old, three years old and 1 year old) I'm often in the uncomfortable position of taking noisy kids into restaurants. Sometimes I'm embarrassed, sometimes I think other people should just deal with it (kids are part of life). I never know what the ethics of the situation are. So I decided to ask YOU.
Isn’t ice cream the best? We snag a scoop of Chunky Monkey or Mint Chocolate Cookie Dough and BAM! Our worries of the world are gone. It’s sugar magic at its finest. Even better is when kids get a hold of the tasty treat-- they’re in pure adorable bliss!
Almost 30% of our parent listeners don’t give their kids any allowance
Of those that do, it ranges.
For some, allowances are compensation for good grades and chores
A few give more money the older they get
Some just hand out the cash as needed
So here's THE ALLOWANCE REPORT:
We have lows at $2 per week,
Averages just under $10,
And we have a whopping high at $200
Congratulations Olivia A. for winning the contest!
