Limited production will resume at the Tyson Processing Plant near Wallula, provided the plant meets criteria set up by the CDC and the Walla Walla County Health District.

The plant closed on April 23rd to allow for testing of the rest of the workers there, after a number were diagnosed with COVID-19.  Tyson Foods and the WWCHD issued a statement saying some workers will self isolate and only return once criteria are met from the Health District.

A variety of steps are being taken, including installation of face shields for workers, taking temps using infrared thermometers to take temps of workers. During the closure the plant was deep cleaned as well.

No specific timetable was set, but operations expected to begin very soon.
