Astoria, Oregon is bracing for an invasion of treasure hunters, truffle-shufflers, and movie buffs as it celebrates the 40th anniversary of The Goonies. From Thursday, June 5 through Sunday, June 8, the coastal town that brought the 1985 cult classic to life is hosting a jam-packed weekend of events. With cast appearances, behind-the-scenes exhibits, interactive museum experiences, and movie screenings, it’s a once-in-a-generation party for Goonies fans of all ages. Organizers expect up to 15,000 visitors to descend on the town—proving once again, Goonies never say die!
