Prevent Homeless Pets Opens in Benton City!
The Prevent Homeless Pets Clinic has been providing affordable spay and neuter services for owned and homeless pets since 2009 but the business didn't have an official location until now. The new no-kill clinic, is now open in Benton City. Harriet Johnson, director of clinic, no longer has to transport supplies and animals to Yakima while keeping her supplies in a storage unit. Johnson found the now permanent location for Prevent Homeless Pets in 2012 and after a year of preparing, the clinic is ready for business.
The opening of the non profit clinic is due to a lot of help from the community, a fundraiser collected $16,000, an anonymous donor contributed $10, 000, Parr Lumber donated wood for the kennels, Don Williams donated his time to take care of plumbing, Freedom Electric donated electrical work, and Vineyard Veterinary and the Pet Over Population Prevention donated a bank of kennels.
The new Prevent Homeless Pets Clinic is located at the corner of Della Avenue and Ninth Street. For more information on the clinic, visit their website.
