Click It or Ticket Doesn’t Apply to Case of Beer When Driving Drunk
Early Wednesday morning, a West Richland officer stopped a suspected impaired motorist, and made a surprising discovery.
Around 2AM Officer Cervantes pulled over the car after seeing signs of possible DUI from the driver. WRPD didn't say specifically where the stop occurred.
When Officer Cervantes approached and driver and began the interview and then sobriety test process, she noticed the person had a case of beer in the back seat, 'safely' secured with a lap and shoulder belt.
This person likely spent the night in jail, had or will have their car towed, and faces a court date--costly! But at least they were thoughtful enough to consider the welfare of the case of beer.
