Taylor Says “No” to Prom

The cancer-stricken New Jersey teen who Taylor Swift invited to the Academy of Country Music Awards this past Friday is "amazed" that she reached out to him.  Eighteen-year-old Kevin McGuire, who's been battling leukemia and is now in remission, says, "I didn't even believe it at first, so it doesn't even seem real right now."

Taylor asked McGuire to accompany her to the ACMs in response to a Facebook campaign launched by his big sister Victoria, who was lobbying for Taylor to attend his prom with him. Victoria is also stunned by the support they've received in the past week, saying, "Who knew that I could pull this off, or my community could come together to make this happen?"

Taylor issued the invite on her Facebook page on Friday, writing, "Kevin, I'm so sorry but I won't be able to make it to your prom.  But I was wondering, the ACM Awards are coming up...would you be my date?  Love Taylor."  The ACM Awards are April 1 in Las Vegas.

Talk about a classy response from Taylor.
