What is Tough Mudder? A Tough Mudder event is a hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle course designed by British Special Forces to test your all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie. I took the muddy plunge last Saturday in Black Diamond, WA

Nine months of training prepared me for 12 miles and 25 grueling obstacles - no doubt Tough Mudder is the toughest physical endurance event on the planet.

The event took place at the Palmer Coker Coal Company in Black Diamond, WA (near Seattle) last Saturday and Sunday.   The first challenge was getting into the event - over 10,000 participants were bottle-necked at the entrance which created an entirely different kind of obstacle.

Although it is not a timed event, our team - the Tough Mudder Fudders finished in 2 hours and 45 minutes.   The toughest portiont for me was the Arctic Enema obstacle - swimming submerged in frozen water - it took my breath away completely.

There were an estimated 139 injuries the first day and they ranged from ankle injuries, broken hands, noses, and other bones.  Most common - dirt in the eye.   Luckily I finished with just a few scrapes and sore muscles.

Would I do it again?  I'm already registered for Tough Mudder Portland, Oregon on June 15, 2013!

Tough Mudder has already challenged half a million inspiring participants worldwide and raised more than $3 million dollars for the Wounded Warrior Project.
