When I was in Utah visiting my Sister, She had been experimenting with making her own organic moisturizing cream for face and body.

Utah is extremely dry and she is always trying to find more natural chemical free things for her face and body. She let me try some and I was hooked! I will admit, it does smell a little different. But with the added Essential Oils she adds, the cream ends up with a pleasant smell after all.

She gets 'Suet' from the local butcher of either a cow or a Sheep. The animal has to be grass fed. NOT Corn fed. The reason has to do something with the Omegas being turned to 3's and not 6's. (which is apparently healthier)

People with problem skin such as psoriasis have raved about the cream. It's supposedly biologically the best suited to nourish our skin in a natural way.

You can watch the Video. And here is the recipe for reference.

FACE & BODY CREAM

Take Ground Suet of ONLY Grass Fed beef or sheep and heat in crock pot outside (because of smell) for 24 hrs. You will then have liquid 'Tallow'

Use cheese cloth to strain impurities out of Tallow.

Use 8 Parts strained liquefied Tallow and ladle it  into a wide spout measuring cup. (this will make it easier to pour into blending machine)

Add Options --(1/2 Cup each of two or three of these options)

Shea Butter

Avocado Oil

Olive Oil

Coconut Oil.

Then add organic essential oils of your choice.

Lemon Grass, Lavender, etc

Whip for about 1 minute in a 'Bullet' or other blending machine.

Pour into containers. (Walmart canning jars, or smaller containers can be purchased online from container supply store)

Cool in fridge for a couple hours.

Experiment with texture, consistency, smell etc by adding more or less of the things you like.

Enjoy!
