For nearly a decade the former Blue Mountain Mall has been a blight on the otherwise beautiful Walla Walla right at the entryway to the city from College Place. A remodel is now underway and an exciting new anchor tenant is signed.

A California developer is turning the old mall into the "Walla Walla Town Center" in the northwest tip of the city. The former Sears building will become Hobby Lobby. City officials say the retailer will help keep money in Walla Walla that otherwise might have been spent in Tri-Cities. Not to mention additional jobs.

The anchor tenant could draw new tenants such as Burlington Coat Factory, Ross, Marshall's and Bed Bath & Beyond (for example, none are confirmed). It joins Shopko, which never left the location.
