It's Tuesday, so you probably need a good cry. Here, watch this video. It's children from Sandy Hook Elementary performing 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' on 'Good Morning America.' The kids recorded the song, with folk musician Ingrid Michaelson, at the home of former Talking Heads members Tina Weymouth and Christ Frantz.
The Coney Island Polar Bear Club's annual New Year's swim looks like a great time. People in costumes, swimming, having fun. We probably should've gone, but there was that whole hangover thing to deal with. Which makes us wonder, does jumping into the freezing Atlantic ocean cure a hangover? If so, we're totally there next year.
It's that special time of year when people take all the funny things that happen and make them all into one big thing. Here, for example, are the best funny news bloopers of 2012.
It's Black Friday, and you know what that means -- hiding in your home away from the world while people desperately claw at each other's faces to buy a Wii U for their kid. The madness is not for everybody. Some of us like to eat cold turkey all day and wonder how a person could be so hungover. For those of us who would rather spend time with our TVs watching 'Star Wars' than rioting over discounted athletic socks, we present these Black Friday memes to make you feel like you've made the right choice.
'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2' is out this weekend, and rising up out of the waves of tween tears is Robert Pattinson ...who is PSYCHED! Here's a hi-larious supercut of Robert Pattinson not-so-subtly hating on the film
Yesterday was the day for voting for in our Grumpy Cat Look-Alike Poll. Today is the day for voting for actual elected officials. (And in our Grumpy Cat Look-Look-Alike Poll, because it takes like a second. Seriously.) Here are the best memes about voting we could find, and we even tried to keep in nonpartisan, which was pretty hard, because have you noticed how people on the internet have strong opinions? Enjoy!
Hey there, how's it going? Maybe you're nestled up all snuggly someplace far, far away from the Eastern seaboard, with nary a worry on your mind. The rest of us our bracing ourselves for Frankenstorm AKA The Snowicane AKA Hurricane Sandy. Since it's pretty much all we can think about, here are our favorite memes on the subject. (Yes, many involve Sandra Dee puns.) Because how many weather reports can you really read?
Videos of old-timey skeleton dances are the best way to get a little spook-ified before Halloween without accidentally soiling yourself. That is a fact -- you can ask anybody. Oh, thanks for asking. Yes, that is a fact. From PBS to Disney and beyond, here are the best skeleton dances EVER to get you into the spirit of Halloween.
Truthfully, we missed most of Hurricane Sandy, the storm that rocked most of the East Coast, yesterday. Because we were inside ... away from the windows, with our curtains closed ... like we were supposed to be. These people weren't, however, so now we can see what was going on outside while we were playing board games with our fingers crossed. Here is some crazy video from yesterday's storm.
As predicted, Hurricane Sandy created one crazy night. Millions without power, explosions, flooding and at least 18 people dead. Don't let your braggedy friends on Facebook convince you this wasn't a big deal. It was crazy. Here are some pics to sum up what happened. Feel free to share your photos in the comments.
In the spirit of Halloween, here is a video of a man in zombie make-up driving through various fast-food restaurant drive-thrus and demanding chicken nuggets.
