Truthfully, we missed most of Hurricane Sandy, the storm that rocked most of the East Coast, yesterday. Because we were inside ... away from the windows, with our curtains closed ... like we were supposed to be. These people weren't, however, so now we can see what was going on outside while we were playing board games with our fingers crossed. Here is some crazy video from yesterday's storm.
As predicted, Hurricane Sandy created one crazy night. Millions without power, explosions, flooding and at least 18 people dead. Don't let your braggedy friends on Facebook convince you this wasn't a big deal. It was crazy. Here are some pics to sum up what happened. Feel free to share your photos in the comments.
In the spirit of Halloween, here is a video of a man in zombie make-up driving through various fast-food restaurant drive-thrus and demanding chicken nuggets.
This is a timelapse video of the process involved in taking the "Success Kid" meme and turning it into a tiny sandstone statue. Don't you want a tiny "success kid" you can keep in your pocket like a lucky rabbit foot?
It's funny because usually Ellen DeGeneres is the most friendly, least intimidating comedian we could think of ... and then she accidentally made Taylor Swift cry. Ellen decided to play a little game wherein she flashed pic
We've seen a lot of incarnations of Psy's 'Gangnam Style.' Even still, we never predicted we would see the song in spooky Halloween light show form.
If you're so beyond regular Disney princesses, maybe these ladies will strike your fancy. They're Hipster Disney Princesses -- a spin on the classic Hipster Ariel meme put into motion (and song). Although they maybe get the details of being a hipster wrong (Starbucks? Keep your corporate slave coffee to yourself...), the gist of it rings true. Though, really, if you think about it, they're all pretty sheltered. Who was Ariel learning all her references from, Sebastian the Crab?
Woah boy. Even if you could not give one fraction of an iota of a care about football, you probably still heard about the game last night (thanks, Facebook!). To deal, we just imagined old-timey Keystone Kops music playing underneath the whole thing. Thankfully other people dealt with the insanity by making funny memes. Here are some of the best.
We assumed this guy was the world's worst dad for taking his son's favorite toy and launching it into space. But it turns out he could track it using GPS so that it wouldn't be lost forever, and he is actually the coolest dad on earth because now his kid has a video of his train in space
"Way to go, Dan. Way to make a baby boy cry on live television." Yeah, good job Dan. We especially like how once the baby starts to cry his impulse is to run awaaaaaayy, and then later to cheer the crying kid up with a bit of song and dance.
So Apple is releasing a new iPhone (again). It's thinner, lighter, bigger and faster. It comes with headphones that might actually fit your ears. It fits in your hand. It also possesses the ability to explode the Twitterverse. Here's what people are saying.
