Parents and students patience is growing thin as the Kennewick School District doors stay shut for a second day Wednesday, due to the teacher's strike.

The Kennewick Education Association (KEA) teachers union members continue to picket at various locations, including the KSD Admin building on 4th Ave.

As of Wednesday afternoon, 1pm, Kennewick administrators made an offer of a 7.5 percent pay bump for this year, for the three year contract. It is not known if that offer still contains a 2.2 percent raise in 2020-2021.

Previous offers of 6.3 and 7.1 percent were rejected by the KEA. The 7.1 offer included the 2.2 for the next year.

Negotiators, say sources, have been working as late as 10pm in an effort to reach an agreement.
