I have always loved the look of horseshoes. They just look so rustic and country! So I decided I would try to make something, I didn't know what I was going to make but I knew it would be SOMETHING! That something just happened to be a wine bottle holder. However, in order to do that, I realized a hot glue gun wasn't going to cut the mustard so I would have to learn to weld. So that's exactly what I did! I discovered that not only do I love the look of horseshoes, but I absolutely LOVE welding! I am anything but a pro but when you love doing something, you don't have to be a pro, just love doing it and the results of your project.

So I went to the farm supply store and bought a box of horseshoes. Two different sizes, horseshoes and pony shoes. The little pony shoes were just so cute I just couldn't resist! I stared at the pile of shoes and tried to envision what I was about to create. Nothing really came to me..... hat racks, coat racks, handles, etc, and of course, naturally, I settled on a holder for my booze!

The design ended up looking fairly simple but let me tell you, it wasn't! Trying to hold rounded, uneven metal on top of one another while trying to take a hot wire feed and blaze them together was anything but that! Especially for me, considering I am the most accident-prone person I know.

I am very proud of my creation and I am excited to teach myself to do all different designs. Probably the most rewarding part was that I finished with no injuries! Who knows, maybe I will be sporting my new crafty booth at the next bizarre!
