Could WA Drop Daylight Savings Time? Legislators Thinking About It
Several prominent WA State legislators have filed a bill that if passed, would keep you from having to spring forward, or fall back.
Legislators are allowed to pre-file bills before the start of the legislative session in Olympia this week, getting a jump start.
The bi-partisan bill has been filed by two Democratic and one GOP Senator, it would keep us on the same time year round.
According to numerous economic and other studies, the benefits of 'spring forward, ball back' are getting less and less. In fact, many health experts say the clock change contributes to more physical stress, less sleep, accidents and affected productivity.
Arizona and Hawaii do not change times, last fall California voters opted to stop the change too. Last year a similar bill was introduced through the Senate, which would keep us on the Pacific Standard Daylight Savings time, but it did not pass.
