Bomb Threat Email Making Rounds in TriCities, Targets Businesses
Kennewick police have issued a bulletin Thursday warning businesses and others to NOT 'bite' on an email that claims bomb threats.
Police say the threats come via email, and attempt to extort the business into sending money after it has been converted to some of that new crypto currency.
Police say if you receive one, don't delete the email, but report it to police immediately and any and all correspondences you've received. ALSO do not open any attachments, DO NOT attempt to reply to it, or send any currency.
They say the origin of the emails are likely overseas, and the FBI and other federal agencies are now working with the police on this issue. They say it appears to be part of a nationwide slew of emails sent to businesses in an effort to scam money.
