TC Ams Goalie Eric Comrie To Miss Rest of Season Due to Hip Injury

Fortunately, it's considered a minor injury, but will require season-ending surgery to repair.

The Tri-City Americans announced Friday Comrie will undergo the procedure, then return to his native California for rehab. GM Bob Tory said while it was very unfortunate for Eric and the club, it was the best option to take care of it now.  This will allow him to recover 100% and not jeopardize his future as one of the brightest goalie talents in North American and the Western Hockey League.

Comrie, in only his second season, already ranks in the top ten in most Americans career catagories for goaltenders.  He has also accumulated numerous medals playing for teams in international competition, such as the World Jr. Championships and other events.

No official word was released Friday as to whom the Americans might seek as another netminder, or when it will happen.   Luke Lee-Knight (seen below) has been successful in several stints in net subbing for Comrie throughout the season.  Lee-Knight who joined the team after the departure of Brenden Fiebelkorn, has compiled a record of 5 wins against 2 losses, with a goals-against-average of  3.23 and a .902 save percentage.  Knight had been with the team in training camp, and was brought back after the departure of Fiebelkorn.
