Take My Wife, Please

An official at the UK Border and Immigration Agency,  was fired recently for what I believe was just an oversight.

The man, who we will call Bob, waited for his wife to go on vacation. Pam (not her real name) went to Pakistan to visit family, only intending to stay a week or so. When Pam tried to board a plane back to Britain, she was not allowed on the aircraft, and Immigration officials would not explain why.  Apparently Bob, put his wife's name on the list of terrorists suspects, which is a list of people banned from boarding flights into Britain because their presence in the country is 'not conductive to public good'. Well, that should take care that for the next three years. Bad news for Bob though, you see he was up for a promotion, and that meant a higher level of security clearance, and that meant more digging around in his past. When confronted about the name of his wife on a terrorist list for the last three years, Bob spilled the beans. Bob was fired. When I read this story, my first thought was, didn't anybody notice that his wife had not been home for three years. It' well known,  that the wifey is at her moms story is good for about one month, tops. Kids, crime doesn't pay, and the morale of the story is, if you have a good thing going, don't try and get a promotion.
