First, if you need to know if school will be in session Thursday or onward due to the teacher's strike, the number to call (after 7pm) is 509-416-7874. Negotiations continue with hopes of ending the strike.

According to Pasco School District spokesman Leslie Caul, negotiations were continuing between the teacher's union and the district. She also clarified remarks made earlier about negotiators not being available. Officials learned Tuesday that they were available, but felt meeting Wednesday was the best option.

Parents and others are advised to call the number listed in this story tonight to see if school will be postponed for another day.

Also, Friday September 4th has been set in Franklin County Superior Court for a judge to hear the motion from the District, who are seeking a court order to force the teachers back to work.  The District filed the motion claiming the strike violates state law, among other claims.
