Note to the paparazzi: If you are on the lookout for celebrity public display of affections, Carrie Underwood and her hockey player hubby Mike Fisher are not the couple to pursue. According to the country superstar, her conservative husband steers clear from any form of PDA outside the comfort of their own home.

“He’s definitely a conservative guy. To get him to kiss me in public is a really big deal — but he knew what he was marrying,” Underwood tells the Australian talk show Kyle and Jackie O (quote via Country Weekly). ”But he knows that even if the skirt’s a little short, I would never do anything. That’s my motto — I would never do anything that my kids would be embarrassed about when they grow up.”

That’s not to assume the rough-and-tumble sportsman is not a romantic at heart. “I had told him I wanted something romantic, which he did the night before,” Underwood says of her recent 29th birthday. “He set up dinner for us — somebody came into our house and cooked dinner and when we came back it was just beautiful — so I checked that off my list, but the next night, he had a giant party for me with all of our friends. It was really nice.” The blonde beauty later tweeted a photo of herself from the ’80s-themed birthday bash.

Underwood is currently making her media rounds in promotion of her latest album, ‘Blown Away,’ which debuted at No. 1, selling 267,000 copies. The 14-song collection, which features the hit single, ‘Good Girl,’ logged a second week at the top of the all-genre album chart, scanning an impressive 120,000 units.
