My friend Gail from the City of Richland sent me this info, so I thought I should share for you Benton County residents!

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE COLLECTION EVENTS IN APRIL

The spring household hazardous waste collection event for Benton County residents will host two collection sites on two separate weekends again this year; the first in Kennewick and the last in Richland.

On Friday and Saturday, April 3 and 4 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., household hazardous waste can be dropped off at the Benton-Franklin Fairgrounds parking lot, 10th Avenue entrance, in Kennewick.

In Richland, the event will be held on Saturday only, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Uptown Shopping Center, corner of Williams and Stevens. Look for signs directing you to the entrance.

Hazardous material includes paints, solvents, cleaners, automotive fluids, pesticides, fertilizers, batteries, propane tanks, and pool or hot tub chemicals. Items not accepted include electronics, fluorescent light bulbs, tires, appliances, explosives, radioactive materials, asbestos, biohazards and trash. Proof of Benton County residency is required.
