First Night Tri-Cities invites you to bring your family and friends to attend a drug and alcohol-free night celebrating the arts. Nowhere else in the Tri-Cities will you be able to celebrate New Year's Eve with your entire family–no matter what their age–enjoying such a wide variety of visual and performing arts that is affordable and accessible to all. Live music of all kinds, a hypnotist, a Kid's Zone and fireworks offered. Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and go until 12:30 a.m. “Buttons” are the tickets and can be purchased at any SunMart, the Richland Community Center, the Tri-City Herald or Pasco City Hall.

Ever since heading to the hills with my best friends to escape Y2K, camping has been my favorite New Year's Eve party. Unfortunately, I'm married now and the kids have to be in bed by 9:00 at the latest. If you drink, there's no one to tell you you're past your limit.
