Will Gift Card Entice You to get Vaccine? CBC Event Thursday

Another attempt to encourage people to get vaccinated takes place Thursday August 26th at CBC.

The CBC Student Rec and Wellness group and Tri City Hispanic chamber and the CBC Foundation are holding  a vaccination clinic at the school from 10AM to 1PM.

It will be at the T building on the Pasco campus: According to information released by CBC:

"Columbia Basin College (CBC) is partnering with Columbia Basin Health Association

(CBHA) to host a cost-free public COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Thursday, August 26 on CBC’s Pasco campus. This clinic will be open to the general public for ages 12 and above, and will offer doses of the Moderna, Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson vaccines. Spanish language translation services will be available.

CBC’s free clinics have been some of the best-attended local vaccine distribution events. For this event, the first 100 participants will receive a $50 gift card courtesy of the CBC Foundation. This event is co-sponsored by the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and CBC Student Rec & Wellness."

According to various  sources, as  of Mid July, 55 percent of Washington residents are fully vaccinated, but Benton County is around 42 percent and Franklin below that.

the 70 percent figures used by state officials to "re-open" the state were based upon at least  one dosage of an official vaccine. Results have been mixed when it comes to all the state efforts to encourage people to get vaccinated, from the Jabs for Joints pot campaign to the various Lottery promotions, they have not resulted in the vaccination rates the state was hoping for.
