Okay, so it's really no secret that physical activity makes you feel better and live longer, but it's not easy to start and stay with it. When we exercise we reduce the risk of premature death, coronary heart disease, stroke, diabetes and depression.  Simply put, if we exercise 2.5 hours a week we will feel healthy and happy!  Who doesn’t want to feel good?

According to the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition the more aerobic activity the better. 2.5 hours a week is great, but if you increase that to 5 hours or even 7 hours a week the benefits also increase. Including a reduced risk of colon and breast cancer.

Where do you start? First and foremost is to have a plan.  Your plan should include a variety of routines that you mostly enjoy. I say mostly because we have to do some things that we don’t enjoy to get the best results. Whether it’s running, walking, yoga, hiking, biking, weight lifting, swimming or a combination of all, you need to get started!  Go see my friends at Max Muscle in Richland.
