An old black-and-white video of Helen Keller generated a ton of comments on the internet over the weekend. Keller lived from 1880 to 1968 and was left blind AND deaf following a serious illness
when she was 19 months old. (Possibly scarlet fever or meningitis)
The video shows her SPEAKING , which she somehow learned how to do . . . but she
explains that her biggest regret was not being able to speak NORMALLY.
She says, quote, "Longingly, I feel how much more good I might have done if I had only
acquired natural speech."

We have all heard "Helen Kellar jokes"... I'll think twice now before I acknowledge a blind or deaf joke. Thanks for schooling me Helen!
