Umatilla’s Prison Food Supervisor And Former Candidate Is In Trouble

According to The Oregonian today, the former manager of food services for the state prison in Umatilla, Oregon is in hot water. Mike W. Mathisen also unsuccessfully ran for a state House seat in 2010.Prosecutors are mulling over possible criminal charges for misuse of public funds at Two Rivers Correctional Institution. Mathisen's former co-worker Fred Monem is a fugitive wanted for allegedly taking around $1 million kickbacks.

Mathisen oversaw a kitchen employing about 100 inmates feeding 1,580.

He says he did nothing wrong.
