Years ago, Rusty Wallace tried to pay a fine from a race (stemming from a controversial call that his team protested TOO loudly--the penalty call cost him a race win) by dropping off 500k pennies at the NASCAR headquarters in Daytona Beach FL.  But THIS takes the cake!

A Mira Mesa CA man was turned away from a Chase financial institution after attempting to pay his credit car bill with $6,500...in....pennies!  Thirry Chahez tried several times to drop off the "tidy" sum at the Chase financial institution, but was told they could not even consider taking them unless they were rolled.  He was eventually sent to a large financial institution that could handle the influx of copper.   Chahez was upset over the fact that the card company would not give him a refinance, and other charges and fees on the card....we LOVE this guy!
