The Americans and the rest of WHL hope for a lot more normal season in 2021-22 after COVID ravages schedule.

As part of the standard league protocols, this coming weekend's games are scrubbed. The Americans hope to be back on ice Wednesday 4-28 vs. Spokane.

Americans schedule will begin March 18, and conclude May 11.

The scrape of skates on ice will not be heard January 8 at Toyota Center.

Of course these things can change, but the WHL has announced they will, or plan, to resume play January 8, 2021.

18-year-old Eric Czapliniski has been the team manager for the Lacey High School Lions for the past three seasons while also playing Center for the Brick Stars Challenger Program.

Upgrades to the Toyota Center in Kennewick will keep the Tri-City Americans Hockey team playing at the Arena for years to come.

There have been a lot of Tri-City Americans who've gone on to the NHL, and many have lasted for years: Olaf Kolzig, Stu Barnes, Cary Price, Brian Boucher, Scott Gomez, Eric Comrie and the latest, Brandon Carlo. But this season a record number of Americans are ranked NHL prospects.

Eric Comrie was, a few years ago, the next in line in a long string of Tri-City Americans net minders who appeared to be NHL bound.  Thursday night, those dreams became reality. He joins Kolzig and Price as another outstanding Americans goalie to get to the NHL.
