Many people consider the landscape in eastern Washington as barren and ugly...I strongly disagree the Hanford Reach landscape which was largely shaped by floods in the ice age make this area (all around us) very beautiful indeed...
Fall Chinook return to the Hanford Reach in record numbers this year.
It's estimated 200,000 Chinook are spawning, which is the most for the Hanford Reach area since the 1930's!
This year's Chinook run on the Snake and Columbia river was the second best since counting started back in 1938...
