I usually scan my lottery tickets on my Washington Lottery mobile app. If it's a loser, many of those tickets can be logged in as points. I don't have enough points yet to purchase something cool, but I think it's mostly lotto swag. I've won $200 a couple times, but mostly it's just a few bucks if I win anything at all. After my lotto app tells me I've won $4 or whatever, I take it to a convenience store and re-invest. You can also use the lottery vending machines you see in grocery and convenience stores to check your ticket. If you win $4 it will ask if you want to use it as credit to buy more tickets, or you can cash it. But I've always wondered what displays if you win a jackpot. Does it display...YOU'VE WON $2.7 MILLION?

The answer is apparently NO. It says CONTACT LOTTERY OFFICE. According to the story below from KEPR-TV, it actually says Woo-Hoo and to contact the lottery office. If you win $600 or more, you have to collect at a lottery office. The winner in Sunnyside almost simply clicked OK and threw the ticket away...but he checked it again and figured he'd won $600.

Upon checking the numbers at home later, he realized he'd hit the jackpot!
