Dozens of Animals Saved from Horrific Conditions in Poulsbo

More than 20 dogs were rescued from a home near Poulsbo on St. Patrick's Day. The Kitsap County Sheriff's Office and Kitsap County Animal Control Officers seized 57 animals from a hoarding situation in unincorporated Poulsbo.

After a Warrant Was Served, Dogs, Cats, and a Pig Were Seized From the Home

The rescue operation began at 10 am and lasted well into the evening hours. Animal Control Officers and staff with the Kitsap Humane Society worked to transport dogs, puppies, cats, kittens, and a pig away from the unsafe conditions.

The Animals Were Brought to the Kitsap Humane Society for Assessment

Due to the overwhelming amount of rescued animals, the Kitsap Humane Society issued an URGENT plea for help needed with dog rescue. To accommodate all 57 animals, KHS cleared the majority of current canine residents out of the shelter to foster and temporary homes.
