Pasco Farmers Market Opens Tomorrow!
Starting tomorrow, and then every Saturday until October, the Pasco Farmers Market kicks into gear. A nice variety of goodies await you on 4th Ave between Lewis and Columbia in Downtown Pasco. Of course there will be plenty of fresh fruits and veggies, but take a look at the video below and you'll find a whole lot more. Specialty cakes, loaves of bread and baked goods, fresh-off-the-farm flowers, hand-made soaps, specialty coffee beans and products, and treats, snacks, and food. The Pasco Farmer's Maret is a non-profit organization serving our communities. For reminders and updates on special additions or events, follow them on Facebook HERE.
Farmers' markets have been around for thousands of years overseas, and for several centuries here in the U.S. It's nice to see such a wholesome tradition continue even after the advent of the industrial age and grocery stores. Farmers markets really help small farms and businesses by giving them a venue to display and sell their goods. In many cases, fruits and vegetables are fresher and less expensive at farmers markets. Products usually get less handling, less transport, and little or no storage time.
