It’s no joke, one of the most spectacular lighted holiday parades in the country is in Sunnyside, Washington. According to the television network, A&E, the Sunnyside Lighted Implement Parade is one of the top 10 don’t miss holiday events in the United States and the parade has been featured on The Travel Channel and Xtreme Christmas.  Now that’s saying something!

Mark your calendar for Saturday, December 4th and make your way to Sunnyside to celebrate Yakima Valley’s agriculture heritage at the longest-running implement parade in the nation.  Each year more than two dozen tractors, combines, and other antique farm equipment are decorated up with thousands of lights and paraded through downtown Sunnyside.

You’ll want to arrive early to take part in the many events throughout the weekend including, an arts and craft fair, a tree lighting ceremony, an old fashion Christmas at the Sunnyside museum, a Jingle Bell run, a chili feed, a visit with Santa before the parade, and ending with the lighted implement parade.

It’s not too late to get your implement registered and celebrate the season in Sunnyside. If you plan to stay the night, you better make that reservation now.  Check out the parade Facebook page for update-to-date information and photos from past years.
