Extras Needed For Upcoming Movie Shoot in Ellensburg Area

If you ever thought you'd like to be in a movie, the good news is you don't have to move to Hollywood to achieve your dream! You can get cast in a movie right here in the area.

A film is shooting in Kittitas County near Ellensburg and they are scouting for extras for the movie and you could make it up there on the big screen.

A casting director has been working with the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce and provided guidelines for the extras slots.

Here is the notice that was posted on their Facebook page:

"CASTING NOTICE: BACKGROUND EXTRAS NEEDED FOR FILMING IN KITTITAS AREA

We are looking to cast local Kittitas and surrounding area residents to work as background extras for a feature film, filming in their area. Please see details, description and submission instructions below.

PROJECT: Feature Film
TITLE OF FILM: East of the Mountains

Starring Tom Skerritt, directed by S.J. Chiro, based on the best-selling novel by David Guterson.

SYNOPSIS:

East of the Mountains tells the story of retired heart surgeon Ben Givens (Tom Skerritt). Upon learning he has terminal cancer, Ben takes his beloved dog on a final hunt, determined to end his life on his own terms. Ben's journey, though, takes an unexpected turn, and soon becomes an adventure against which he pits himself with characteristic stoicism, wit, and determination.

FILMING DATE: Monday, June 3rd
LOCATION: Kittitas, WA

TIME COMMITMENT: Background extras are usually needed all day and should plan to work on set for 10 or more hours. Call times/start times and end times vary.

COMPENSATION: $12/hour, with an 8 hour guarantee of pay. Meaning if you work less than 8 hours, you still get paid for the full 8 hours. Most extras (18+ years of age or older) work 10+ hours on set. Plus an additional $20 vehicle allowance for those who are asked to bring their vehicles to use on camera.

MUST be legal to work in the U.S.
