Seems like we have been a stepping stone to some of the best baseball players. Trading away A-Rod, Freddie Garcia, Ken Phelps, and Griffey. Well once again, the Mariners are trading another one of their favorite players to the Yankees.

Ichiro Suzuki has been an icon to Seattle and Washington after starting his career here in America in 2001 and coming from Japan! Being with us for over 11 years, he has really become one of Seattle's favorites.  It's sad to say, but this could be a good move for Ichiro because he now has a chance to win a world series.

Coincidentally, his first game with the new team was at Safeco Field! I had heard about the trade earlier but it really didn't click until I was watching the game on TV. Kind of chilling seeing him walk out on the field in the third inning and seeing the whole crowd of over 29,000 fans give him a standing ovation.

Just look at the history and stats of our Mariners, for some reason they seem to excel once leaving the Seattle rain.  Check out R.A. Dickey, who is now 13-1 for the Mets! And of course if we would have had Ibañez, Cabrera, Soriano and Big Papi longer, we may have been cheering for a better team. Is it just because we are just too dang cheap?

I guess some of our best accomplishments were probably keeping Edgar Martinez for his whole career and snatching up Jay Buhner from the Yankees.

Tell us what you think about this new move!
