A ceremony was held with the renaming of the Police station on 6th Avenue.

It's now named: Kennewick Police Station Kenneth M. Hohenberg Public Service Building.

Many friends, family, and dignitaries were present as Kennewick City Manager Marie Mosely dedicated the building in Hohenberg's name.

According to a release:

Traditionally buildings around the nation are named "Public Safety Building". Chief Hohenberg wanted the word "Service" used in the renaming of the building so as to put emphasis on the role of police officers and staff to be of service to the community.

Retiring Police Chief Ken Hohenberg served the city of Kennewick for 44 years.
