According to a new memo sent to some 11,000 Hanford area workers, new policies will be going into effect concerning COVID-19.

The memo, which is also posted at, states that workers will be brought 'in line' with other Federal employees. The memo covers Hanford workers-staff, contractors, and even visitors to the sites.

Those covered by the memo will either need to show proof of vaccination status, or be willing to participate in increased testing. Some sources say it could be weekly.

According to the memo, this is their definition of fully vaccinated:

*Fully vaccinated is defined as two weeks after the second dose in a two-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna) or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson)."

This will also apply to remote workers as well, all will have to complete an online attestation as to their vaccination status, or be willing to undergo the increased testing.

Despite these new requirements, they will have perhaps an easier time of it than many state workers, as well as healthcare, EMS, Firefighters and others in the state of WA who are facing a mandatory vaccine edict from Gov. Inslee and state officials.
