According to AAA, gas prices have risen for the first time in four weeks. Maybe not as bad as this picture, but they're going up.

The national average is now sitting at $2.36 per gallon for regular unleaded. That's actually six cents less than a month ago, but 8 cents more than one year ago this week.

Officials say due to increased demand and pending holiday travel, prices tend to rise this time of year. Plus, soon, refineries will be adjusting their fuels to what are known as 'summer blends.' They're fuels that are reportedly adjusted to be more environmentally friendly due to more people being on the road.

As for our local prices, according to GasBuddy.com,  Kennewick averages between $2.60 and $2.85 as of Wednesday.  Pasco ranged between $2.63 and $2.94 and Richland $2.63 and $2.79.
