Ruck for the Fallen are at it again! Saturday, April 9th, you are invited to join Ruck For The Fallen to fill their ruck sacks with supplies for for the heroes holding the line at the Texas border. The situation there is less than desirable and the moral is low, so let's do what we know, as Americans and let's show support to our men and women in uniform.

They are asking that, not only you bring supplies, but lift their spirits with cards and letters, written with your favorite quote, or a picture drawn by the littlest of supporters. Anything that can bring comfort and support during this time.

You are invited to join them Saturday, April 9, at 9:00 a.m. while they ruck for a good cause. They will be starting at the park and ride in Benton City, just off of I-82 and SR 225 and finish at the Smart Storage on 1405 Dale ave. Or you are welcome to skip the ruck and just join them at 10:00 a.m for the packing party (at Smart Storage), where you can either drop off supplies or help pack boxes to send to our uniformed heroes in Texas. It will be a party for a purpose! There will be free food and everyone, from all ages are welcome to join in the party.

They have created a list of items to help you shop! They are asking for items such as, shaving cream, toothpaste, baby wipes, hand sanitizer, razors, chap stick, shoe insoles, liquid bandages, lotion, beef jerky, popcorn, candy, cookies, cereal, chips, fruit snacks and nuts. Also, items for a moral booster like, letters, games, crossword puzzles, postcards, jigsaw puzzles, books, magazines, playing cards, coloring supplies and anything homemade from kids are recommended.

All ideas are good ones! So get creative and let's show these men and women they are on our mind and they have our support! To all those protecting and serving, thank you for your service!

Experience One of the Most Scenic Hikes on the Oregon Coast

In 1806 Captain Clark of the Corps of Discovery described what is now Ecola State Park in Oregon as “…the grandest and most pleasing prospects which my eyes ever surveyed…”. I completely agree with Captain Clark and that’s why I make it a point to visit the park, which is near Cannon Beach, each year. And, there’s no better time than right now! Scroll down and take a gander at nature's glory.
