Summer is here and that means road construction crews are out and about. Kennewick drivers should be prepared for a detour and closure this week on West 10th Avenue.

In a press release from the City of Kennewick, the contractor for the city-wide overlay project will be patching West 10th Avenue between South Kellogg Street and South Union Street starting on Wednesday, July 29th.

You can expect various lane closures that will take place between the hours of 8 AM and 4:30 PM.

The City of Kennewick is estimating that the construction should cause delays for approximately 3 days.

The press release continues:

Motorists are encouraged to use alternative routes if possible in order to avoid delays.

They are also asking drivers to exercise patience and caution for their safety and the safety of the project workers.

Another reminder is that road crews are out working hard so be aware of the flaggers and workers and keep them safe.

Traffic fines can also double if you aren't vigilant and careful in a work zone.
