Dynamite Detonated in West Richland Neighborhood

It was a tense situation for a West Richland neighborhood this morning. (8/11/2020)

Crews with Benton County Fire District 4 and the bomb squad were called out Tuesday morning to a report of a can of "unstable" dynamite found.

The dynamite was discovered in the area of Weidle Road, near the Horn Rapids Golf Course.

According to the Benton County Fire District 4 Facebook page:

The unstable dynamite has been detonated by the bomb squad. Thank you to everyone who assisted with this incident and removing the hazard.
