It's totally cool if you spaced and completely forgot about the Seattle Seahawks second round draft pick in last year's (2020) NFL Draft. I think we can all agree the past year has been full of things to occupy our time, energy and effort, so we'll give you a pass.

Even better, we will give you a pass rusher. Rookie pass rusher Darrell Taylor.

He might be called upon to wreak havoc on the Los Angeles Rams this Saturday EVEN THOUGH HE'S NEVER PLAYED A NFL DOWN.

Seattle thought so much of the University of Tennessee DE, and his stellar edge-rush capabilities, that Coach Pete Carroll and General Manager John Schneider seriously thought about using their first round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to get him. They were thrilled when he was still available in the second round, so Seattle snagged the Volunteer with pick #43.

The issue with Taylor was a stress fracture in his leg, requiring surgery prior to the draft, an injury that he gutted-it-out through in order to play his entire senior season. In fact, Taylor finished his college career at Tennessee with two straight seasons with eight or more sacks. The start of his NFL career has been frustrating thus far as Taylor has dealt with unexpected complications with his leg injury.

His long recovery is almost complete, he's been dominating the practice squad and Coach Carroll hinted we might see him in the Wild Card Playoff Game against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday afternoon with the kickoff scheduled for 1:40 p.m.
