Are We Really Afraid of Clowns? Really?

A new survey on Reddit.com revealed the six things kids are MOST afraid of.
No. 6 was escalators. I always thought I might get sucked in and eaten.
No. 5 Anybody in masks and costumes.
No. 4 Something under the bed or in the closet
No. 3 Kidnapping
No. 2 the dark
No. 1 clowns.

Really people? Clowns are No. 1? My kids love clowns. I used to love clowns. Is this a joke?
