WSP Troopers Clock Exotic Race Cars at 100MPH+ in Grant County
The Washington State Patrol intercepted 10 exotic sports cars speeding well over 100mph on I-90 in Grant County.
A WSP Trooper says the drivers were participating in the Gold Rush Rally 9. An online site promoting the race promises, "taking chances, finding the best routes, most luxurious hotels, and throwing the hottest, wildest and most memorable parties ever."
Sure.
At least 10 participants were ticketed with criminal violations, more serious than the usual civil penalty for speeding. One Lamborghini driver had his car impounded as he was stopped twice in both Kittitas and Grant County.
$20,000 dollars will get you in the race, Wednesday's leg was Seattle to Spokane. The journey began in Beverly Hills on Friday with stops in San Francisco, Seattle, Spokane, Jackson Hole, WY and Las Vegas.
Please obey all posted speed limits. And buckle your safety belts.
