WOW!! That’s A LOT of Stockings!!
Signed, sealed and DELIVERED!
Christmas morning will be full of trinkets, candies, toys and fun for over one hundred foster children in our area! This has been a crazy little project myself (Janis) and my family have taken on for six years now and it just keeps getting bigger and better with each year! Stockings were always my favorite part of Christmas, so when I saw a plea for help on Facebook from a friend of a friend to get a stocking to every foster child in our area, I jumped on board!
Bruce Gradisher from HAMTC (Hanford Atomic Metal Trades Council), who is retired now, was in charge of their Christmas program and was looking to add stockings to the gifts they deliver to the foster children. That is how it all started! I saw his post and decided I could probably donate a few items and help him out. Well, little did I know it would become an important addition to their already fabulous Christmas giving program!
What started with just 40 stockings has grown and has reached up to 130 stockings over the years. This year My daughter, Kamrace and myself (with the help of my parents) gathered and assembled over 120 stockings again and it was all made possible because of YOU! Our community donated cash, toys, candy, games and dental items to make some of the best stockings to date! These stockings will be paired with a toy for each foster child in our area and will be delivered in time for Christmas morning!
After stuffing each sock as full as possible there ended up being some left over goodies, so we passed them down the road to the next giving project. Everything left over was delivered to Mama's Diner in Benton City to help them with their Christmas Giving Dinner. For more information about Mama's Christmas Dinner and Celebration click HERE.
From my family to yours, Merry Christmas Tri-Cities and THANK YOU for all of your support and keeping this program alive and thriving!
