It's a nice hot sunny day int he glorious Northwest. The Yakima River is calling your name. You pack up the family or friends and hit the river to float on down and spend the day frolicking in the water. Sounds great! But not if you're one of the families who lives on the river. West Richland residents have had to put up with noise, trespassers, and garbage for years!

On the West Richland PD Facebook, people have expressed concern about trespassing, littering and safety. It's not that they don't want people to have a great time on the river, but it is really that much to ask for people to be respectful? Take your garbage with you and be mindful of private property along the way. Also, be nice to wildlife. Have fun on the river, but be safe and clean, and we'll all have the best summer ever!
