My wife and I were doing some yard work at our home in West Richland this weekend when we suddenly looked at each other and said, wow, that Raceway is rockin' again! I didn't realize it had been so long since races were held at Tri-Cities Raceway which is not even that close to our house, but we can hear it well.

I just saw a report on NBC Right Now that said it has been 17 years since the last official racing event was held at Tri-City Raceway. When I heard they were building the new West Richland Police Department in that area, I thought they were building it on what used to be the raceway. Nope. The police department will actually be next to the raceway. Apparently, three to four thousand people were there on Saturday, and about 500 cars participated in the various races. This has a lot of people excited since Yakima Speedway closed down and some people are saying Tri-Cities Raceway will be the best place to go in the PNW.
