Walla Walla County Wind Knocks Out Power & Flips Plane on Runway

High winds and heavy rain did damage in Walla Walla County Tuesday afternoon, including flipping an airplane. Power was knocked out to hundreds of Pacific Power customers as high winds moved through the area.

The winds caused several downed trees and power lines. At one point nearly 2,000 homes and businesses were without power. WESCOM received numerous calls of downed lines. Winds were in excess of 55 mph at times.

A small plane reportedly flipped over on the runway at Martin Field in College Place. No one was injured in the incident.
